Ambir & Shannon

Have you ever had that moment where you immediate fell in love and everything all around you clicked?? That is what this entire day was like for me!

Ambir and I go back about 6 years when our daughters, who are both now 11 years old, started in the same Girl Scout troop as little Daisy Scouts. We have sat through many troop meetings and cookie booth sales while our little girls crafted and played. When she met Shannon and they began dating...I had a strong suspicion that they would end up tying the knot. I'm so glad I was right! The day they asked me to be their photographer my heart legit jumped with joy for them! I was excited I would not only get to attend their wedding also witness it as a friend to both of them. And boy was it a wedding to witness...

For an end of the year, winter wedding you would have assumed it would be a cold, lifeless day. It was the complete opposite! It literally could not have been a more beautiful day. The sun was shining in full force, not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was perfect. It was a bit windy..but I'm a sucker for a beautiful windblown look! Immediately I'm in photographer heaven, right??

I walk into the venue to greet the venue coordinator and I remember just how warm, rich, and stunning the Jackson Terminal event center truly is. Again, I'm jumping for joy and in photographer heaven. Heading a block down the street to the airbnb where the girls were are getting ready at, tons of location ideas were popping in my head left and right. Thank you unique & urban downtown Knoxville! The airbnb was full of natural light and pretty colors, which is something you should look for in a space where you are getting ready at. It makes for the best getting ready photos! I will link it here! {Old City Knoxville Airbnb} Once my second shooter, Sarah Keenan Photographer, and I started shooting it was smooth sailing the rest of the day.

A downtown, urban wedding is seriously one of my new favorite styles of weddings to shoot. The backgrounds you can use and the light you can play with are endless downtown! These are just two of the main reasons why I love shooting there so much! (keep an eye out for a blog post coming soon talking about more reasons) We were able to walk all around the Old City in Knoxville and capture so many different images for their gallery.  Ambir & Shannon did a first look before their ceremony so we had ample time to shoot bridal party photos, couples photos, and even family photos all before their designated "rest time" before ceremony began.

The Jackson Terminal staff did an amazing job with the reception food, drinks and decor. They were prompt, friendly, and accommodating. I highly recommend this venue because they have it all! The atmosphere the reception hall has is ideal for dancing the rest of the night away. With Jim Ogle as their DJ, the night never skipped a beat. They danced, their guests danced, heck even us photographers danced! It was undeniably a night that anyone who was there will never forget.
